Piolo immune to issue over gender preference

Several actors have been linked to Piolo Pascual. But the showbiz heartthrob is quick to shrug off rumors, saying it has no basis at all.
Because the fund-raising concert of Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla and buddies Rudy Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III and Phillip Salvador at Zirkoh Greenhills was such a smash hit, the gang has been booked for a post-Valentine gig on Feb. 16.
The quartet had hastily put on a show for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Reming in Bicol last December. This time they'll have enough time to prepare and rehearse. Each of the friends will also have longer solo numbers. They'll also have a producer, Malou Choa-Fagar.
Jinggoy is extremely excited about the show, but Daboy is nervous because he's still not confident that his singing would hold up. Daboy begged off doing a song during the birthday party of Redgie Magno of GMA 7 at the Wednesday Club. But his better half, Lorna T., was glad to oblige. By the way she looked younger with her short hair.
The concert will again be held at Zirkoh Greenhills.
The sudden resignation of Gladys Guevarra from Eat Bulaga did not surprise her associates. Gladys also made a fast exit from Gladys and The Boxers when she felt that Kaye Brosas was trying to muscle into the show.
This time, however, Gladys is said to be bad-mouthing the very people who had rallied to her side during her legal battle with Janno Gibbs. During the 25th anniversary bash of Eat Bulaga, Gladys sued Janno for oral defamation after finding his jokes offensive.
Initially she cited health reasons for her quitting, but in other interviews she had hinted that the reason was deeper than that.
The fashion critic known only as Mr. Blackwell has picked socialite Paris Hilton and her bosom pal, pop star Britney Spears, as the worst-dressed celebrities of 2006.
As usual, Mr. Blackwell poured scorn on his choices, calling Hilton and Spears as "two peas in an over-exposed pod! Style-free and fashion deprived."
The two have been club-hopping together since late last year. But that's not why they're in the news lately. In September the 25-year-old Paris has been arrested for driving under the influence after she was pulled over for zigzagging her Mercedes Benz through Hollywood. Last week the star of the reality television series The Simple Life pleaded not guilty to the charges, insisting she had just "one margarita."
Britney, meanwhile, pulled a shocker when a photograph taken of her getting out of a car revealed that she was not wearing undies! I wonder who would be named as the worst dresser among our showbiz stars?
Another Hollywood pair is putting their relationship on hold. Former N'Sync front man Justin Timberlake and Charlie's Angel star Cameron Diaz have issued a statement saying they have "ended our romantic relationship and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another."
The two have been on since 2003 and for a while it seemed as if a wedding was in the works. But recently they have attending awards and red carpet events in Los Angeles alone.
The Metro Manila Film Festival is over but there are residual issues that could re-ignite. Bhien Lumbera, one of the filmfest's jurors, vows to open a can of worms about what happened during awards night.
Piolo Pascual has grown immune to the issue over his gender preference. He says it has no basis anyway, despite persistent rumors linking him to Sam Milby. He had stopped hanging out with Sam, hoping the rumors would go away, but they didn't. So he's resigned to letting people think whatever they want.
Actually several other actors had been linked to Piolo before. So it's best that he just ignore the rumors.
Sam, meanwhile, refuses to comment on the buzz, saying it's not his gender preference under question.
The two friends have a concert on February 2 and 3 at the Music Museum entitled Heartthrobs. It's their first show together. Sam says he's honored to do a concert with Piolo.
Aside from preparing for the concert, Piolo is shooting a movie ith Regine Velasquez under Viva Films.
