Tingog bisaya: Concert rocks on Nov. 30 - Dec 2

To present to the local community the strength of Cebuano artists, e+ productions with Peter Paul Mark Maceda at the helm, with Touch Mobile and San Miguel Beer, bolt in for a three-night "Tingog Bisaya" concert to happen at the SSS grounds from November 30 to December 2.

In a recent press conference, Maceda mentioned 15 local bands to rock the SSS grounds along Osmeña Boulevard on the first night of the event. Featured bands are recognized in the genre of Bisaya rock, and a host of other bands that have made a mark in their own genres.

On November 30, featured bands are composed of The Agadiers (Pagbakho), Agipo (Sikwati), Assembly Language (Chinita), Gangrene (Wasted), Indephums (Plastik), Makadawa (Sigarilyo), Mantequilla (Bulinaw), Ossified (Deep Pressed), Phylum (Palagot sa Kontra), Stonestomp (Tigpatuman), D'Kazins (Naunsa Na?), Wet Slipperz (Bisan Pa), What's The Frequency (Royal Rumble), with Mr. Pepper and Session of the Fighters. Tickets are available at the gate for P50. The first 1,500 spectators will get a SIM pack from TM worth P59 with 50 free texts and free beer. This is TM's way of recognizing the support of subscribers whom Gikom Crystal of TMG Globe Telecom disclosed to be mostly from the crowd of Bisrockers.

Crystal explained that after the first 1,500 would get their SIM packs from TM, the SIM beds would be raffled off. This means that they would have to immediately use their new numbers as they will be contacted through the mobile phone using that corresponding number for them to claim special prizes such as four Nokia brand new cellphones. Also, David Aguilar of San Miguel Beer announced two Panasonic DVD units will be raffled off on the first two nights of the concert.

Voice Box, Grassroots, SRO, Indephums and Gangrene will play on December 1. Tickets are only P30 with free beer. While on December 2, Interact, Suburbia, Phylum, Mantequilla and Crown Royale will play. Tickets are still at P30 with free beer. Crown Royale is best known for its cover version of tracks popularized by US pioneer in reggae-contemporary Gospel music "Christafari" with dreadlocked pastor Mark "Tansoback" Mohr on vox.

It was underscored that San Miguel Beer is known for pooling in variety and reggae artists in its events, while TM is into Bisaya rock having recognized that their niche market is among this group.

Meanwhile, Mark Maceda said that the three-night concert ala Woodstock would be evenings of three Ms - music, makaon, makalingaw. Part of the things he would want to accomplish with colleague Wigi Colmenares, after presenting to the local community the strength of Cebuano artists, is to from there realize other prospects such as the compilation of songs meant for mass production to be of help to the artists enumerated.

On these nights, bands will be assigned booths (band camp) where they can entertain inquiries from supporters, and sell their albums/CDs and other merchandise such as shirts, stickers and keychains. The event will benefit the Cebu City Task Force on Street Children headed by Ms. Margot Osmeña.
