Cutting edge Comedies for the Jolly Season

-
It's the season to be jolly and laugh out loud with 20th Century Fox's upcoming cutting-edge comedies topbilled by Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito.

Oscar winner Russell Crowe reunites with "Gladiator" director Ridley Scott in the romantic comedy "A Good Year" based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Peter Mayle. Crowe plays Max Skinner, a London-based investment expert who moves to Provence to sell a small vineyard he inherited from his late uncle. Along the way, the cocky and confident Max reluctantly embraces the memories of summers past with a man whose wisdom and philosophy helped him chart his successful career. While tending to the vineyard that he is about to sell, a complication arises with the sudden arrival of a determined, Californian girl who claims to be the illegitimate daughter of his deceased uncle. Then again, another arises as he is smitten by the lovely Fanny Chenal, a lovely café owner with whom Max has to make amends with.

British actor Sacha Baron Cohen is about to rock the house with his raucous comedy "BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN." In a movie that seems to embrace racism, sexism and anti-Semitism, Cohen takes on the role of Borat as a journalist from Kazakhstan who travels to America to conduct interviews with unsuspecting locals to document America's culture but ends up annoying and disgusting anyone he comes in contact with.

"DECK THE HALLS" revolves around one-upmanship between two fathers, Steve Finch (Matthew Broderick) and Buddy Hall (Danny DeVito) who have diametrically opposed personalities and very different ideas about Christmas. Buddy Hall's views on seasonal decorations come down to this: the bigger and the more flamboyant, the better. While Danny DeVito's Buddy believes in ostentatious clashing colors, complete with plastic Santas and nodding reindeer, Broderick's Steve Matthew prefers subtlety in ever sense of the word - from simple wreaths and tasteful bougainvilleas, to harmonious carol singers. He is the town's 'Mr. Christmas' and when De Vito threatens his well ordered, rigorously structured winter festivities; he is incensed and outright war breaks out.

Ben Stiller plays the good-hearted dreamer Larry Daley in the adventure comedy "NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM." His character Larry, despite being perpetually down on his luck, thinks he's destined for something big. But even he could never have imaged how "big," when he accepts what appears to be a menial job as a graveyard-shift security guard at a museum of natural history. During Larry's watch, extraordinary things begin to occur: Mayans, Roman Gladiators, and cowboys emerge from their diorama to wage epic battles; in his quest for fire, a Neanderthal burns down his own display; Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher) pillages his neighboring exhibits, and a T-Rex reminds everyone why he's history's fiercest predator. Amidst the chaos, the only person Larry can turn to for advice is a wax figure of President Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams), who helps our hero harness the bedlam, stop a nefarious plot, and save the museum.
