Nothing's final yet for Mark and Jennylyn

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -
I'd like to believe there's a grain of truth in the claims of this actress' former boyfriend who's now serving time in jail. Even before the guy could narrate his story in full in the media, the actress' camp was already in defensive mode, explaining her side.

You be the judge if the ex's story is believable. But if he is just making it up why the actress is so paranoid about what he is going to reveal? I understand the guy is going to leave jail soon.

Shaina Magdayao can't understand why some people are insinuating that she already has a boyfriend. At the presscon for "First Day High," Shaina was pressed about who her bf is now. She insisted she's too young to have one. She has no serious admirer, she said. What about Joross Gamboa? She doesn't even want to talk about him, she said, because he's too old for her.

And John Wayne Sace, who is being bruited about as her special someone? John Wayne hasn't even announced his intention, if he has any, Shaina said.

She and John Wayne will be joined by Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson in Charms and Crystal Episode of "Love Spell."

Incidentally, Kim and Gerald are said to be a pair, although none of them wants to confirm it. But a gay editor seated beside me whispered to me that the two have been dating for the last two months or so.

Kim said that Gerald had been dropping hints, but that's about all. I won't be surprised if something develops between the two. They're practically inseparable. Aside from "Love Spell," they've been teamed up in "First Day High," their movie debut. Truth to tell, Kim and Gerald could be the busiest stars in ABS-CBN's stable. They were brought back to "First Day High" because their previous episodes rated quite well.

Also in "First Day High" are Maja Salvador, Jason Abalos and Geoff Eigenman. The film, directed by Mario Cornejo, arrives in theaters September 27.

The final chapter of the love story of Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado has yet to be written. The two have not closed the door on their relationship but at the same time they don't want to give their fans false hopes.

When it comes to their showbiz life, Mark and Jennylyn have no problems. Their fans love them and can't get enough of their movies. Jennylyn has personal problems, but it doesn't reflect in her face. Her adoptive parents had just been operated on, and the father lost a leg.

Jennylyn herself was rushed to hospital just a few weeks ago after she suffered from overfatigue.

Her lovelife is a blank right now, but that's alright for her. She says it gives her the chance to concentrate on her career.

In the forthcoming film "Eternity," Jennylyn and Mark are lovers buffeted by unexplained troubles. They find out that they were the reincarnation of a couple, played by Iza and Dingdong, who lived in the 1800s. Iza and Dingdong were struggling under a terrible curse and that curse had been carried on in their next life.

How Jennylyn and Mark will survive their tribulations would depend on how Iza and Dingdong overcome the curse.

Mother Lily Monteverde is happy with the cast of "Eternity". "Mark and Jennylyn and Iza and Dingdong prove they can carry a movie on their own."

"Eternity" also stars celebrated performers like Hilda Koronel, Jaclyn Jose, Bibeth Orteza, Pinky Amador, Juan Rodrigo, Jaime Fabregas with Bobby Andrews, Michael Roy and Paw Diaz.

"I got the best in the industry," trumpets Direk Mark Reyes.

The movie is set to kick off in Metro Manila theaters on Sept. 6.
