Cinema One premieres 'Ang Anak ni Brocka'

The acclaimed digital film "Ang Anak ni Brocka" lands for the first time on cable TV on Cinema One's Sunday Cine Premiere, August 13 at 8 pm.

Sigfreid Barros-Sanchez's dramatic and satirical documentary is one of the six chosen films in the first Annual Cinema One Originals digital film festival.

Nonie Buencamino, Jacklyn Jose, Gina Alajar, Bembol Roco, Angie Ferro, Geoff Eigenman, Nanding Josef and Philip Salvador star in Sanchez's masterpiece. This will also feature the talent of stage actors Sharmaine Centenera, Soliman Cruz, Roence Santos and Miguel Pancho.

The plot revolves around a group of investigative journalists who wanted to make a difference in their field. When they are almost to give up, they score a controversial scoop when they find a 20-year-old boy claiming to be the son of the late National Artist for Film Lino Brocka. When they have started gathering data to verify this, they discover a lot of things about the late filmmaker-much more than they expected.

Mara Benitez's exceptional cinematography even adds to the film's high quality.
