Actor-politician got gambling itch?

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis -
Does Isko Moreno have the gambler's itch? My source tells me that the Manila councilor is frequently seen in a casino somewhere in Malate, playing the slot machines. "He goes there just before dawn when he's least likely to get noticed," my spy tells me. "He always comes in with a group, and someone signs for him when he claims his winnings."

Isko's gambling ways could disappoint a lot of people who look up to him as a role model. He comes from a poor family but hard work and the determination to make a name for himself paid off. He became a councilor and is taking up law.

Another frequent guest of the casino is Jay Manalo, I'm told. There was even a time when Isko and Jay bumped into each other there. Like Isko, Jay prefers to play at the slot machine.

Jay has been idle lately. His last project was Vietnam Rose. Perhaps that's why he has all the time to hang out in the casino.

Is something developing between Fred Payawan and Lovi Poe? It seems that Fred of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition fame has known Lovi since they were kids. They were even classmates in grade school at the Colegio de San Agustin!

Fred's father is a colonel in the Philippine Air Force, but he never entertained the thought of following in his dad's footsteps. He'd rather start a business of his own. He plans to take a course in entrepreneurship when he graduates from high school next year.

Despite his busy schedule now that he's under contract with Star Magic, Fred doesn't intend to quit school.

He claims he hasn't had a steady girlfriend, just a lot of MUs. I find that hard to believe! His latest MU is Niña Jose, his Big Brother housemate. But they don't seem to be comfortable with each other.

Tita Ethel Ramos predicts that Fred will go far in showbiz. I agree. He resembles Jericho Rosales in so many ways. He winsome smile makes him a shoo-in as an endorser for Close-Up.

Speaking of Niña, she has made quite an impression on many viewers with her refreshing candidness. She has graduated from high school but doubts if she has time to enroll in college this semester. She would want to take up European studies. The reason? "I want to travel to Europe," Niña says.

From the Hollywood hotline:

Sandra Bullock had been hounded a stalker until she got a court order in 2003 preventing him from getting near her.

The man, Thomas James Weldon, has spent three years in a psychiatric hospital, but he's about to be released. Last week, Bullock, got a three-year extension on a restraining order against Weldon.

Bullock's lawyer, Edwin McPherson, said the actress was concerned for her safety since Weldon will get permission in September to leave his Nashville, Tennessee hospital for 90 days.

She has accused Weldon of following her across three US states and of sending emails, faxes and voicemail messages indicating that he wanted to have a "relationship" with her.

Bullock had a part in this year's best film Oscar winner "Crash." She lives in Texas with her husband, motorcycle maker Jesse James.

Angelina Jolie has given birth by cesarean section to a daughter. The star of the Tomb Raider series has named her Shiloh.

The baby, who weighed seven pounds, is Angelina's first by Brad Pitt. The couple also announced they will donate $300,000 to the maternity wards of two state hospitals in Namibia, where Shiloh was born.

The girl is the couple's first biological child. Jolie has two adopted children, Maddox, four, from Cambodia in 2002 and Zahara, one, from Ethiopia last year. Their surnames have been changed to Jolie-Pitt.
