The Amazing Ricky Davao

Rachel Alejandro is moving out of her pad in Manhattan, New York, and into the penthouse apartment of her mom.

Rachel's manager Girlie Rodis told me the mother, Myrna Jingco Demauro, has just bought the classy five-room digs. Mrs. Demauro is the former wife of singer Haji Alejandro. She has been married for the last 26 years to an Italian-American-Japanese who made a fortune as a real estate developer.

Rachel had no qualms about selling her Manhattan pad. She doesn't stay there for long anyway. It would mean big savings for her so I say it's a wise decision on her part. And she'll be with her mom.

Rachel is now in Bali, Indonesia together with the couple KC Montero and Geneva Cruz. The two girls, who are best of friends, tagged along with KC who is hosting a big MTV event there.

When Rachel returns, she'll go on a bar tour titled That 80s Show. Performing with her is her cousin, Niño Alejandro and The Force band.

Bernadette Sembrano is returning after all to ABS-CBN. For a while there were rumors she was leaving "Magandang Umaga Pilipinas" as the show re-formats. Her co-hosts even hinted that she may be gone for a while because she's going to the US.

My source tells me Bernadette isn't leaving the country at all. True, she's flying to the States soon, but she'll just be on vacation.

Then again, Bernadette may have other reasons for taking a rest from MUB.

I'm just wondering if she ever regretted her decision to leaver GMA-7.

Ricky Davao never ceases to amaze me. Aside from being an accomplished actor, he can also belt out a tune!

I found this out during the surprise birthday party ABS-CBN hosted for Tita Ethel Ramos. Ricky, who has won as best actor in the Aliw Awards four times, was mesmerizing the audience with his ballad renditions.

But wait, there's more! Ricky can also dance, and dance he did at Tita Ethel's bash.

Now I know he has other options if ever he decides to quit acting.

Ricky's latest movie, "Mga Pusang Gala," is already showing. I smell another acting award with Ricky's performance. "Mga Pusang Gala" was originally a digital film.

"ASAP '05" will invade Davao City this Sunday to take part in the Kadayawan Festival.

Davaoeños will be in for a big treat because it will be a star-studded celebration at the SM City Davao's open space. On stage will be Gary Valenciano, The Hunks Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, Carlos Agassi and Bernard Palanca, Nikki Gil, Anne Curtis, Rica Peralejo, singing champions Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Sheryn Regis, Jerome Sala and Nikki Bacolod and "Search for the Star in a Million" Season 2 Champions League of 12.

Joining the part will be the Fanatic All-stars with Luis Manzano, Angelica Panganiban, Anime, John Pratts, Joross Gamboa, Roxanne Guinoo, Joseph Bitangcol, Michelle Madrigal, Melissa Ricks at Shaina Magdayao.

The Kadayawan festival will be aired nationwide and worldwide via Channel 2, Regional Network Group (RNG), Studio 23, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and The Filipino Channel's Pinoycentral TV.

Because ABS-CBN is the exclusive media partner of Kadayawan, there will be festival features, updates, and trivia on ABS-CBN TV-4 Davao, DXAB 1296 Radyo Patrol and My Only Radio (MOR). To complete the festivities, ABS-CBN will also cover the MOR Kadayawan Concert (August 20, PTA grounds) and MOR Yugyugan street party (August 20, Rizal St.).

US pop diva Madonna fell off a horse while celebrating her 47th birthday. You can consider her lucky. She broke her collarbone and a hand, and cracked three ribs, but her condition was not deemed serious.

The accident happened in her country estate, Ashcombe House, outside London. She was with her two children, Lourdes, eight, and five-year-old Rocco, as well as her film director husband Guy Ritchie.

But one orthopaedic surgeon said it should take about three months for the Material Girl to fully recover from her injuries. It would have been longer had not she been a fitness buff.
