CEBU, Philippines — The Philippine cosmetics industry is stepping up efforts to strengthen manufacturing quality and regulatory compliance, with the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines (CCIP) set to hold a two-day Good Manufacturing Practices workshop in Cebu on Nov. 26–27 for businesses across the Visayas and Mindanao.

CCIP will hold the workshop on Nov. 26–27, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Cebu, focusing on the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards in cosmetic product manufacturing.

Themed “Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Ensuring Quality, Safety, and Compliance in Cosmetic Product Manufacturing,” the program will cover principles and practices designed to improve production controls, maintain product quality and support compliance with applicable regulations.

The training comes as consumer expectations for product safety and quality place greater emphasis on manufacturing standards and effective quality management systems. For cosmetics companies, consistent production controls are essential to reducing quality risks and maintaining consumer confidence.

Participants are expected to gain practical knowledge of GMP requirements and approaches to strengthening manufacturing processes. The workshop will also bring together quality assurance professionals, regulatory specialists, suppliers and other industry stakeholders to exchange experiences and discuss operational challenges.

Holding the training in Cebu provides a regional venue for businesses from the Visayas and Mindanao to access technical instruction and build industry connections without having to travel outside the region.

Beyond compliance, the initiative aims to encourage greater coordination across the cosmetics supply chain, including manufacturers and suppliers involved in product development and production.

CCIP has opened registration for the two-day workshop, with early bird rates available until Oct. 30, 2026.

The Cebu training forms part of the chamber’s efforts to promote GMP awareness and support professional development among cosmetics industry stakeholders in the Visayas and Mindanao, with a focus on strengthening quality, safety and regulatory compliance. — (FREEMAN)
