Curry’s sneaker auction
The NBA’s all-time leader in three pointers announced last November that he’s breaking ties with Under Armour. Stephen Curry then became a sneaker free agent, but it allowed him to take the Curry Brand with him. For the 2025-2026 season, the 4-time NBA champion and 12-time All Star had the freedom to wear different brands of footwear from the tunnel walks to warm-ups and during games.
He’s parting 75 of them thru an auction for charity benefitting Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation. Bidders had the chance to get a pair or two that Curry wore. Bidding opened April 13 and closed last Tuesday, April 28.
The organization, based in Oakland, California, supports healthy meals, reading and an active lifestyle for children is founded by Curry and his wife Ayesha.
Called “The Stephen Curry Collection: My Sneaker Free agency”, the collection features a great mix of game worn, signed, and popular shoes, him using each pair to spotlight players and the eras that helped form the sneaker culture.
“I’ve always believed that every pair of sneakers tells a story. This collection really captures a unique chapter for me during my sneaker free agency this season. From the tunnel walks to the on-court warm-ups to the games across the country. I was excited to spend this time shining a light on players over the years who have left their mark on the sneaker game”, he said.
His choices throughout the season were intentional, honoring past and present stars of the game. Converse for Larry Bird, Nike for Kobe Bryant, Adidas for Dikembe Motumbo, Reebok for Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson, Fila for Grant Hill and Jerry Stachouse. He wore LiNing for Dwayne Wade, Anta for Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving and Puma for Tyrese Haliburton.
Also included in the auction were the shoes he wore off court – lifestyle brands like Sisa Collective, Dada, Brooks, Timberland and On.
