CEBU, Philippines — Cebu offers a variety of attractions, from the natural wonders found in the province to the cultural heritage and contemporary forms of destinations in its municipalities and cities. These spots showcase the wide range of experiences the province has to offer—its history, food, landmarks, sights, and more.

The Old

Cebu’s rich cultural heritage exists today as must-visit sites. Places like the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño, Casa Gorordo, and Fort San Pedro are reminders of our province’s significant past.

The Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño houses the image of the Snr. Sto. Niño de Cebu, a reminder of Christianity’s arrival to the island and a symbol that draws in the unwavering faith and devotion of the Cebuanos. The Fort San Pedro stands as one of the oldest Spanish Forts here in the Philippines while the Casa Gorordo Museum—considered as a National Historical Landmark—allows visitors to travel back in time and experience what life was like back then in the historic barangay Parian.

Aside from these historical sites, new destinations have also emerged.

The New

The arrival of new tourist sites signifies Cebu’s continued path in realizing what it still has to fully offer. Places like the Tops Skyline Garden, Temple of Leah, and the Sirao Flower Garden have emerged as additions to the existing attractions of the province.

Tops Skyline Garden affords visitors a panoramic view of the Metro—overlooking the vibrant skyline of Cebu. The Temple of Leah, with its Greek and Roman-inspired architecture, and the Sirao Flower Garden with its variety of flowers are sights not to be missed.

The continued investment towards these old and new must-visit spots are indicative of how Cebu values not only the treasures of its past but also the constant search for new opportunities to showcase what it still has to offer—a commitment towards continued progress. — Erik Justin Aya-ay
