MANILA, Philippines — As the business landscape undergoes a significant transformation, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) commits to helping businesses capitalize on the promising economic outlook at the upcoming month-long event, Mandaue Business Month (MBM 2024).

Chaired by young businessman Walter Ong, this year’s MBM carries the theme “ Future Unleased; Seize the Chance.” This aims at directing businesses to focus on opportunities and how to navigate the changing business landscape through its series of activities.

During the formal launch of MBM 2024 at Waterworld Hotel Cebu, in Mandaue City, Ong announced that the activities scheduled from August through September are carefully designed to help businesses discover opportunities in the new post-pandemic business landscape battling with tough competition, unstable inflation rate and geo-political issues.

“At the MCCI, we look upon the challenges as opportunities to further improve our core competencies, review, align or pivot our business operations and to apply best practices that we’ve learned from expert thought leaders and other industry players,” Ong said.

According to Ong, the MBM 2024 celebration also presents a forward-looking mindset to leverage MBM as an effective catalyst for businesses to unleash a future of prosperity and innovation.

“This marks another important turning point for the Mandaue business community as we navigate another onslaught of challenges that are posed to test our resiliency and determination,” noted Ong.

MBM is MCCI’s flagship project celebrated annually. It is an over-a-month-long business festival designed to promote the thrust of providing opportunities for the business community.

MCCI president Mark Anthony Ynoc, said that with the rapidly changing business environment, challenges are inevitable yet, businesses also have to dig deeper and recognize the opportunities that lie beyond distractions, and other concerns.

“We see these challenges as opportunities for a brighter future. We believe that by seizing chances to grow our potential today, we are unlocking a successful economic future for our businesses and our employees,” said Ynoc.

MCCI’s MBM 2024, also co-chaired by Marvey Alcantara will start the celebration with Trees Brew Life event on August 3rd at the Mandaue Green Learning Park.

The business festival will also present a Cosmetics and Household Urban Hazardous Substances Training on August 8 and 9, at the City Sports Club Cebu.

MBM’s signature event, MCCI Business Summit is scheduled on August 14 at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, to be followed the following day by a demo day on Artificial Intelligence (AI)—how it empowers businesses in today’s landscape.

An Investment Forum is slated on August 21-26, followed by an industrial plant tour to be participated by select companies on September 2, 2024.

On September 12, MBM 2024 will present a Logistics Conference, taking into consideration the robust outlook for the logistics industry. This aims to offer business opportunities in the fast-growing logistics industry not only in Cebu but also across the Philippines.
