The Tent reopens with upgraded facilities
CEBU, Philippines — HT Land Inc., the developer of the 20-hectare township Mandani Bay has spent about P30 million to bring back its event center—The Tent.
Used to be the premier MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibition) destination within the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue, The Tent, which has a capacity of 800 to 1,200, was destroyed by typhoon Odette in December 2021.
With Cebu reclaiming its status as a prime MICE destination, and the holiday season approaching, Gilbert Ang, project director of Mandani Bay announced the re-opening of The Tent. This renowned event venue has been enhanced with upgraded facilities to meet the sophisticated demand of the new normal landscape.
“The Tent is Mandani Bay’s response to a discerning market’s yearning for the ultimate events venue, where milestones are marked, relationships commence and are rekindled and life itself is celebrated,” Ang said during the media preview of the newly re-introduced event center.
Mandani Bay’s The Tent was primarily built not only to provide additional MICE facilities in Cebu, but also to draw in people and see the sprawling seaside township project, a joint development of HT Land Inc., and Gaisano-led Taft Properties.
“The Tent was built not for the company to earn money but to bring in the right crowd to see Mandani Bay’s development,” Ang said.
Because it is one of the largest event centers in Cebu, it accommodates not only over a thousand people indoors, but event organizers have the advantage of utilizing the expansive outdoor space known as “The Park.”
The Tent is a 1,250 square meter covered structure that can accommodate 800 guests on a dinner setup and 1,200 guests on a concert-type setup with an option for garden extension.
The upgraded The Tent, Ang explained is equipped with brand new amenities like the 26 stand-alone air condition units, among others.
For guests below 600, booking The Tent is priced at P250 per person on weekdays and P300 per person on weekends for a five-hour use. For more than 600 guests, the rate per person is P300 on weekdays and P360 on weekends for a five-hour use.
The Tent has at least 250 car parking slots, an 80 square meter service area for food service providers, a VIP room, and air-conditioned restrooms.
Booking at The Tent allows a client to choose among Mandani Bay’s accredited suppliers, inclusive use of a VIP room, Tiffany chairs and tables, and no corkage fees for additional food and drinks.
HT Land Inc. is a listed leading property investment, management, and development group, which also has several mixed-use projects under development in cities across Greater China and Southeast Asia, including a luxury retail center at Wangfujing in Beijing.
Taft Properties, on the other hand, shares the strength and stability of Metro Gaisano retail chain, its sister company, both of which form part of VISCAL Development Corporation. — (FREEMAN)
