Division finals begin today
CEBU, Philippines — Expect a dogfight as the best-of-three Division Finals of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 25 gets underway today at the Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
In court A, the Cebu Landmasters Batch 2003 and the Suprea Ready Mixed Concrete Batch 2011 will begin their showdown for the Division B championship at 4 p.m.
Batch 2003 advanced after sweeping the Bad Boys Wingz Batch 2007 in the playoffs, while Batch 2011 punched a finals ticket after eliminating Starkwood Properties Inc. Batch 2009.
On the other hand, the Asian Orthopedics Batch 2014 and Carampatana Food Corp. Batch 2012 will commence their race-to-2 duel for the Division C crown in the second game at 5:30 p.m.
Batch 2014 made it to the final round after booting out SABR Solutions Batch 2018, while Batch 2012 kept its title hopes alive after terminating MPD Customs Brokerage-Winzir Batch 2013.
In the main match at 7 p.m., Dynast 2001 targets a repeat performance over the top seeded Forex Xchange 2000 that will land them a spot in Division A finals.
Over in court B, the Magis Medical Fund Batch 1997 shoots for a finals berth in Division A as it takes on AutoLAB Batch 1999 at 7 pm.
Before that, two games for third place will be contested pitting Batch 2007 versus Batch 2009 in Doivision B and Batch 2018 vs Batch 2013 in Division C. — EBV
