Dychangco Group opens Japanese specialty resto
CEBU, Philippines — The Dychangco Group of Companies (DGC) has opened Cebu’s newest food destination offering specialty Japanese cuisine.
Called Ori Izakaya, the cage-like restaurant located at the family’s estate in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City aims at meeting the growing sophistication of Cebuanos’ dining preference. “Japanese cuisine is not just offering demand opportunity from the local diners, but it is also the family’s top favorite Sunday-meal choice,” said DGC chairman Renato “Oly” Dychangco Jr.
Ori Izakaya offers a combination of traditional Japanese cuisine like its signature rolls, sashimi, and other authentic Japanese food, but it has added an interesting modern flair for an experiential dining experience.
“We carefully designed the restaurant with lots of ‘instagrammable’ details,” said Christelle Lou Dychangco, head of marketing.
She said Japan has become the traveling destination among Cebuanos, anything Japanese, particularly the cuisine is also something of high interest for the local market.
The restaurant, which started to serve diners since February 14, 2020 has also attracted a growing number Japanese nationals, she added.
The rest of the Dychangco sisters, Shelah, Sarah and Holly Dawn, and Kate each plays their part in managing the family’s newest food venture.
According to Holly, while they are particular in offering quality overall Japanese dining experience, the family is also conscious in its pricing. Affordability she said is guaranteed.
Ori Izakaya promise is to serve Japanese comfort food that are presented with a modern twist. It also promised a fast, fresh and price friendly service.
Accommodates 25-30 diners, both in indoor and al fresco set up, the restaurant also allocated function facilities for exclusive meetings and intimate special occasions.
