CEBU, Philippines — Leading on-demand delivery app Lalamove has sealed a partnership with UnionBank’s thrift arm CitySavings, to provide motorcycle financing for units purchased at its accredited dealer-partners nationwide.

Through the partnership, Lalamove partner drivers can enjoy flexible payment options plus rebates when buying Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha motorcycle models.

Aside from the one-day approval and easier requirements, payment settlement has also been made more convenient thanks to PERA HUB’s 350 branches nationwide. This will impact over 35,000 partner drivers in Greater Metro Manila and Cebu, areas where Lalamove currently operates.

“We are confident this partnership will be a success, given the ease of availment and convenience it brings our drivers,” shared Lalamove Managing Director Dannah Majarocon. “Imagine acquiring a brand new motorcycle where you don’t need to show a payslip or go through a burdensome and difficult process—with CitySavings, our first bank partner, this is not just a possibility but a reality,” she added.

“CitySavings proudly announces its strong partnership with Lalamove in providing and financing the needs of the motorcycling public. With this partnership, we enable greater participation of motorcycle users in the rapidly expanding economic activities in the country today,” said City Savings Bank Managing Director – Motorcycle Loans Business Group Adm. Feliciano A. Angue, (Ret.).

Lalamove is an on-demand logistics company in Asia that matches users and drivers to provide same-day delivery and courier services. Founded in 2013, Lalamove’s mission of making local deliveries faster and simpler is achieved with innovations such as instant order matching, real-time GPS vehicle tracking, 24/7 services, and a driver rating system.

Not only does the service help fulfill customers’ business needs—it also makes cities greener by leveraging the sharing economy to help drivers optimize their time and fleet usage, ultimately resulting in fewer vehicles on the road. To date, the Lalamove delivery platform is present in over 140 cities across Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, CitySavings is the thrift bank subsidiary of Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) and a member of the Aboitiz Group. It is one of the largest thrift banks in the country and provides a range of mass market finance products and services such as salary loans to public and private school teachers, pension loans to GSIS and SSS pensioners, OFW loans, seafarer loans, motorcycle loans, and traditional deposit products. The bank now has more than 170 branches nationwide. (FREEMAN)
