Summit wants IT sector to catch up with the times
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu’s vibrant outsourcing and information, communication technology (ICT) players are called to explore other forms of outsourcing services to catch with the disruption.
It is in this dire need that the 3rd Transformation Summit will focus on resolving, at the same time showing the stakeholders the various streams of opportunities in getting ahead amid the disruptive business environment, especially in outsourcing sector.
To be organized by the Cebu IT-BPM Organization (CIB.O), the summit will be held on May 6 Monday at The Grand Ballroom of Summit Galleria Hotel in Cebu City.
“Our theme this year is ‘Change By Choice’ because we see that if we continue with the usual things we have been doing, we will most likely be left behind. We are seeing the industry headed towards the high-value services,” said Wilfredo “Jun” Sa-a, CIB.O managing director.
According to Sa-a, there are a lot of opportunities to explore in outsourcing, these include back office operation, non-voice, IT outsourcing, shared services, health information management services, finance and accounting, banking services, and engineering services among others.
Meanwhile, other companies can take advantage of the various technology innovations developed by local start-up community.
Jonathan de Luzuriaga, president of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) and the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA), will deliver his keynote address.
De Luzuriaga will also discuss on the different choices available for companies in order to scale up and for our start-ups to develop more products and services that will gain international attention.
The Summit aims at providing top-level executives and managers with the options that are available for them to transition into higher-value services, Sa-a, also the summit’s chairman, reiterated.
Last year, the Transformation Summit focused on equipping companies to have the challenges of disruption specifically the entry artificial intelligence (AI).
Founded in 2001, CIB.O (formerly CEDFIT) is the first ICT Council in the Philippines. — JMD
