China’s largest truck maker now in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines — The booming construction industry in the Philippines fueled by the vigorous ‘Build, Build, Build’ program of the government, prompted China’s largest truck maker Sinotruk to set foot in Cebu.

China National Heavy Duty. Truck Group Co., Ltd, (Sinotruk) yesterday sealed its partnership with Mandaue-based Prime International Motor Corporation for the first Sinotruk sales and service center in U.N. Avenue Mandaue City.

The facility will serve the existing customers and future users of Sinotruk products.

“The infrastructure buildup and booming construction in the country have increased the demand for quality heavy-duty trucks and reliable parts and service. We see the opportunity in this business and the area by which we will be able to complement the industry,” said All Prime chairman Oscar Chua.

The facility was formally inaugurated yesterday graced by former President of the Philippines and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Arroyo said the Philippines should tighten its economic ties with China as it will soon become the biggest economy in the world.

Partnerships like All Prime and Sinotruk are crucial to strengthen the ties between both countries. More importantly, China is a huge market that Philippines tap across industries including tourism.

Sinotruk president Yang Zheng Xu committed to provide skilled technicians from China and train the Cebu service providers to maintain good after sales relationship with its clients and brand users in Southern Philippines.

“This partnership assures our customers of factory-specified light to heavy trucks, supported by quality service and original parts from the factory,” added All Prime president Andrew Lim.

All Prime is one of the subsidiaries of Simon Group of Companies, an integrated marketing enterprise with wide business operations in major cities in the Philippines.

Sinotruk on the other hand is currently China’s largest heavy truck manufacturing base that contributes to its country’s development of the heavy-duty truck industry and economic construction.
