Developer puts focus on big Cebu projects

CEBU, Philippines — As AboitizLand Inc., made its massive entry in Luzon in the last few years, now it opted to focus on its ongoing big three projects in Cebu.

Rafael de Mesa, AboitizLand first vice president-operations said while the company is bullish on its expansion plans in Cebu, where the company's bulk of landbank is located, it will first focus on the three projects currently under construction.

"We will focus on three Cebu projects this year: Foressa Mountain Town in Balamban, Cebu’s first mountain town residential community; Amoa in Compostela, a 60-hectare residential development which is opening its third phase after two years of sustained sales take-up;  and Gatewalk Central in Cebu City, a joint-venture commercial development with Ayala Land," said De Mesa.

These projects, he said are in full swing and will serve and nurture Cebu’s communities once completed.

This first joint venture of Ayala Land Inc., and AboitizLand, the P10 billion mixed-use development called Gatewalk Central is aimed at transforming the lifestyle and business landscapes in Mandaue City.

AboitizLand first announced in 2014 its national expansion with the full acquisition of Lima Land, Inc., developer and operator of the 485-hectare industrial park Lima Technology Center located in Lipa-Malvar, Batangas.

In 2016, AboitizLand revealed its expansion plans with the development of 83 hectares of land located in different areas in Luzon, specifically in Batangas, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija.

Last year, AboitizLand launched its first residential community outside of Cebu with the Seafront Residences, a beachside community located in San Juan, Batangas.

While bullish on becoming a national player, AboitizLand maintains its foothold in Cebu with the three large projects.

Over the past 24 years AboitizLand has built 23 communities, industrial, residential, and commercial combined, in more than 612 hectares of land in Cebu. (FREEMAN)
