CEBU, Philippines - Global professional services company, Accenture Philippines opened its fifth office facility in Cebu, reinforcing its lead as the major employer in innovation-based and high-value skills in the province.

More than the numbers, the kind of talent with innovative skills, makes Cebu's expansion story far from over, said Accenture Philippines country managing director during the official opening of its 5th facility in Cebu.

Located at Filinvest Cyberzone Tower 1, adjacent to Cebu IT Park, the two-storey facility described as technology and operation floors, will serve as an integral part of the company's operations to deliver innovative solutions meant to transform clients' businesses in the digital age.

On track with its growth targets in terms of number of employees in Cebu, Tayag said the new facility houses 800 people, making the company one of the largest (if not the largest) outsourcing employers in Cebu, with a total of 5,800 people.

Tayag said the company's growth in Cebu in the last 10 years is a reflection of the kind of talent Cebu has. Accenture's first facility opened in Pioneer House at Cebu IT Park, 10 years ago with 85 people.

Today, Accenture offices are spread in different locations in Cebu, which include; Robinsons Cybergate, eBloc Tower 2 and 3.

Aligned with the positioning of Cebu in taking the higher stride of outsourcing industry — which is on high-value services, and  innovation, Tayag said, Accenture is committed to work closely with the talent providers or the academe towards developing more talents of higher caliber.

"Cebu story is far from over. We will continue to expand our practice here, providing higher value services and career path of the people," Tayag added.

Accenture encourages its employees to upskill and multi-skill by developing both their technical and creative skills sets in order to advance their career in the IT-BPM industry.

Its commitment to future-proof talent is evident by providing its current workforce with a venue where people can immerse in new and emerging technologies.

Also in the new Cebu facility, Accenture will showcase among others, new and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence ( AI), Robotics, Internet of Things, Augment Reality and Virtual Reality.

Accenture Philippines now has a total of 23 facilities in the Philippines — 17 in Manila, one in Ilocos and five in Cebu. Combined, these facilities employ more than 45,000 people. (FREEMAN)
