Business leaders bare investment come-ons to Singaporean traders
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s business prime movers presented several investment come-ons to the 12-men trade delegation from Singapore.
Cebu Chamber of Commerce, Cebu Business Club, as well as leaders from the business sector, like Roberto Aboitiz joined hands to showcase Cebu as an investment option for Singaporeans, at the same time the local leaders made their easy access to the Singaporean market.
"We are strengthening with our ties with the Singaporean business sector. This is very important in today's business environment," said CCCI President Ma. Teresa Chan.
The Singaporean trade delegation was in Cebu last week to explore Cebu's fertile market and investment opportunities. Most of them are interested in water supply technology, waste management, chemicals, rubber, some are also interested in sourcing products here be exported to Singapore.
This is first time in a long time, Chan said that Cebu is able to re-connect with the Singapore business sector, through the Singaporean Business Federation.
During the meeting with the Singaporean investors, Chan said Aboitiz personally presented the Mega Cebu project to investors, business leaders like Chan, and CBC president Gordon Allan "Dondi" Joseph likewise highlighted Cebu's several investment perks, and opportunities.
Cebuano businessmen were also able to connect directly with the Singaporean traders, through the business-matching activity which was held immediately after the formal introduction and investment opportunities' presentation.
Cebu could also take advantage of the growing need of Singaporean firms, including the headquarters of multinational giants which are located in Singapore for their outsourcing requirements.
Chan said the Singaporean delegates expressed serious penetration in the Philippine market, to get a chunk of the appealing 100 million consumer-base.
