Telco to open Gen3 retail outlet in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - Recognizing Cebu as one of their important markets, Globe Telecom is set to open the largest telco retail store the "Generation 3" (Gen3) in Cebu, before the end of first quarter this year.
Globe Telecom head for retail transformation and management Joe Caliro announced that although the company had already opened two stores in the country, in Manila and Cagayan de Oro, Cebu had to wait due to unavailability of right location and space size.
According to Caliro, Cebu G3 store will be situated in a 400 square-meter area in Cebu. An average Gen3 store only covers about 180 square meters.
Caliro said they will be opening six more Gen3 stores this year including one in Cebu.
"We opened the first two Gen3 store in SM North Edsa, Quezon City and in Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro in December 16 and already these stores are raking in sales," he said.
Globe Gen3 stores are home to various lifestyle zones with stories and exciting features for customers to experience and enjoy a more interactive telco store.
He claimed that Gen3 stores of Globe were dubbed as the most innovative retail store in the world.
"These zones feature latest trends in product, people and even in business. Various lifestyle vignettes illustrate mobile and broadband technologies as connected solutions—featuring the latest devices, apps, digital connectors gadgets and services that contribute to the total interactive customer experience."
Caliro however, refused to divulge the location of the upcoming Gen3 store in Cebu, saying the company will formally announce in the next few days once the deal is finalized.
"We have already found a place to setup the Globe Gen3 Store here in Cebu which will redefine customer experience here.We will be opening the store real soon," he said.
"The goal is to further increase our market share especially in major growth areas like Cebu. We believe the new concept stores will help us achieve that," added Caliro.
There are now over 150 Globe Concept stores nationwide. Eventually, the company will be converting all the Globe stores in the country to Gen3 Stores in about three years. — (FREEMAN)
