Chinese machine maker enters Vis-Min market

CEBU, Philippines - The entry of China's largest construction machinery manufacturer Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Ltd. (XCMG) to the Visayas and Mindanao will help the booming construction industry access quality and brand new construction equipment.

This was according to Regan King, general manager of D' Limitless Vehicle Ventures Group, the subsidiary of RDAK Transport Equipment and exclusive distributor of XCMG in the regions.

XCMG opened its first showroom in Cebu at Juan Luna Avenue, North Reclamation Area last January 24.

XCMG consists of 26 factories and employs more than 20,000 people in China where it has operated for 24 years now. It also owns 920 effective authorization patents, 27 of which are invention patents while over 100 patented products are first pieces and sets of domestic products.

RDAK, on the other hand, has been known in the industry as a supplier of transportation and heavy equipment in the country for 30 years.

King shared that RDAK has started as a distributor of Japan's surplus of truck and heavy equipment and has found that they have the same price with China's brand new products, thus venturing into supplying the latter through the D' Limitless Vehicle Ventures Group.

Acknowledging the concerns of the market about the quality of products from China, he assured that the transportation products coming from China have improved dramatically in recent years and is now comparable to Korean brands.

"But let me tell you this, XCMG is a cut above the rest. Our company has chosen to partner with XCMG because we trust in their products. We are convinced with their track record," he stated.

He added that China is projected to continue improving its quality and shall have top five brands as stable manufacturers three to five years from now.

"China is now fast catching up in terms of product quality, he said. And since labor in China is cheap, it is able to manufacture affordable product," he said.

King further revealed that the D' Limitless Vehicle Ventures Group plans to put up a satellite office in Mindanao by next year and shall launch more international brands in the coming years.

The new showroom will showcase XCMG's brand new heavy equipment technologies. Aside from warranty, D' Limitless Vehicle Ventures Group shall also provide after sales services.

XCMG is a well-known construction machinery manufacturer. Its products include terrain truck cranes, crawler cranes, pick and carry cranes truck mounted cranes, compactors, finishers, loaders, mini-loaders, backhoes, motor graders, excavators, concrete equipments, drilling rigs and aerial fire platforms.

The partnership of XCMG with world-renowned brands in the construction machinery market such as Caterpillar, Meritor and PAT has given the company the expertise to develop quality and affordable heavy equipment.

At present, XCMG ranks fifth in the world construction machinery industry.
