Manila-based franchise network opens in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Committed to enliven the entrepreneurial spirit of Filipinos, a Manila-based franchise network marketing company aims to capture the Cebu market and encourage more Cebuanos to succeed in business through franchising.

The Filipino Dream (TFD), formerly known as Filtrepreneurship Franchise, Inc. (FFI), opened last September 8 in Cebu and in within three months since its opening, over 20 franchisees have already opened in the province.

TFD is designed to symbolize the value of innovation as a breeding ground of  job creation through the promotion of entrepreneurship.

TFD-Cebu operational manager Ramon Silawan said that the company intends to inspire more Filipinos, particularly Cebuanos, to venture into businesses through franchising.

“Guiding our business model is the goal of giving business to every Juan. Franchising is actually a good training for putting up a business,” Silawan stated.

Through franchising, TFD aims to empower an aspiring Filipino entrepreneur with the business knowledge on how to become a successful business owner through the integration of people, technology and business systems.

Silawan said that a franchise investor needs not to worry on royalty fee or any additional fee since the franchising system with TFD requires one-time payment and easy-to-operate financial scheme.

Franchising fee at TFD starts at a minimum of P26,000 package that is inclusive of a mini cart, steamer, utensils, training and uniform for workers, and P400 worth of product sample.

TFD carries 17 franchise products. Its bestselling franchise packages include Emperor’s Siomai, Pinoy Pao, O’Noodles, Red Bowl, Jack’s Eatabols, and Burgeroo.

Silawan added that existing franchisees of TFD claim to enjoy a profit of P3,000 per day.

The positive sales performance of a food franchise, he said, could be attributed to the robust growth of the food business industry and the Filipino market popularly known to be foodies.

He cited that franchising also contributes to the employment generation since a franchisee can hire one to two workers for a food stall.

With the growing number of Cebuanos with spending capacity and disposable income, he is confident that the Cebu market is ready for the franchising industry.

Before 2013 ends, Silawan targets to launch about 74 franchise carts in Cebu.

TFD houses a branch office at One Acacia Place, Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City and a depot along AC Cortes Avenue in Mandaue City.

The company poured an investment of P1.6 million for the 50-square meter depot in Cebu that will serve as a pick-up center for the domestic clientele.  Silawan shared that they will offer delivery services to Cebu franchisees soon.

TFD is also present in other provinces in the country such as Bohol, Davao, Bacolod, Siquijor, Leyte, and Iloilo.

It has its showroom office in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila and factory in Novaliches, Quezon City.  — (FREEMAN)
