UMC extends help to Yolanda survivors

CEBU, Philippines - As a contribution to the relief efforts for those affected by super typhoon Yolanda, Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) turned over hygiene packs to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The hygiene packs consists of shirts, bath towels, underwear, slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste meant to ease the plight of victims of Tacloban,  the city most severely affected by the super typhoon.         

“We truly empathize with the victims and Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) offers its sincere sympathies and prayers of recovery to those affected by the recent super typhoon,” said Dr. Wayne Y. Lee, president of Universal Motors Corporation.

“The hygiene packs are  the first of UMC donations to assist in the relief and rehabilitation efforts of the government for the people affected in the areas ravaged by super typhoon Yolanda.”  

UMC employees have also pooled non-perishable relief goods and cash donations to add to the company’s donation. (FREEMAN)
