Globe extends special payment assistance to postpaid subscribers in Eastern Visayas
CEBU, Philippines - As part of its continuing efforts to help in rehabilitation efforts after the country was hit by a devastating super typhoon, Globe Telecom is extending a special payment assistance to postpaid customers in Eastern Visayas.
Over 38,000 Globe postpaid subscribers have been affected by the typhoon, and about 1,500 of them are still in hard-hit areas in Leyte and Capiz.
Under the special payment assistance initiative, affected postpaid subscribers can defer payment of their October and November 2013 bills and settle their outstanding balance by February 28, 2014. Postpaid accounts will remain active to allow subscribers to call, text, and surf on mobile during these critical times.
With the special payment program, subscribers are also offered installment options to help ease the burden of paying the full amount of their bills.
“We understand that resources are scarce especially during these very difficult times for our customers in Eastern Visayas. It is in this regard that we are reaching out to them with a special payment assistance offer to allow them to continuously use their Globe postpaid lines and settle their bills at a later time or via installment, so they can focus their resources on basic necessities such as food, water, medicines, and rebuilding their shelter or businesses,†said Raul Macatangay, Head of Globe postpaid.
Subscribers in hard-hit areas in Capiz (Roxas City), Leyte (Tacloban City, Palo, Tanauan, Ormoc City), Eastern Samar (Basey, Borongan, Guiuan), and Western Samar (Catbalogan, Calbayog) will be contacted by a Globe representative via SMS or call to avail of the special payment assistance offer.
Meanwhile, subscribers who reside in other affected areas in Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Capiz, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Bohol, Leyte Province, Biliran, and Eastern Samar can call the Globe Hotline at (02) 730-1000 or visit the nearest Globe Store to inquire about the special payment assistance. All subscribers whose billing addresses are part of the typhoon-affected areas are eligible for the special payment assistance program.
This initiative is part of the company’s Bangon Pinoy program, an enterprise-wide disaster response initiative that aims to have a unified system for donations, relief efforts, and corporate social responsibility programs across products and services. It is an integrated program that allows communities devastated by calamities to benefit from various efforts geared towards rebuilding and rehabilitation. It was first introduced by Globe in 2009 after typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng wreaked havoc in the country. (FREEMAN)
