Community briefs Senior citizens revive petition for pension-for-life
CEBU, Philippines - Senior citizens and retirees are invited to attend the 4th Quarter Assembly of the Central Visayas Association for Volunteer Efforts on December 16 at the Del Mar’s Hall, 2nd floor Legislative Bldg, Cebu City.
Dr. Napoleon Ranario, a US trained Gerontologist, is invited to discuss a recommendation to be submitted to congress for the passage of a lawmaking Elderly Abuse a crime.
The group will also discuss the revival of the petition for pension-for-life for those who retired under Republic Act 1616 (Lump sum/ Take All) which they proposed thru Congressman Raul del Mar in 2004. A contribution of P150 for lunch and photocopies of petition shall be collected.
