Watch distributor beefs up hold in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Branded watch distributor New Trends International Corporation has strengthened its presence in Cebu market, noting the fast growing market for high-end and fashion watches in Southern Philippines.

New Trends, the exclusive distributor of quality and branded watches such as Juicy Couture, Nixon, Gucci, Boss, Zeppelin and Braun, has re-launched its retail outlet in Cebu called "Meridian" located at Ayala Center shopping mall to take advantage of the active breed of consumers who highly consider fashion as part of their lifestyle.

In an interview, New Trends Corp. General Manager Avinash Uttamchandani said that Cebu is becoming a highly cosmopolitan city and that consumers are demanding for updated and fashionable products, specifically watches.

He said the company has observed a good indicator for improving purchasing power among Cebuano consumers, as well as shoppers from out of town, thus expanding its array of branded watch choices in the store.

"We are now carrying 12 global brands here that include fashion brands. There is a fast growing demand for fashion items now and watches are now considered a fashion item," said Uttamchandani.

There are currently three Meridian outlets in the country now — one in Davao, Cebu and Metro Manila — and they will be opening one more in Metro Manila within the year. — (FREEMAN)
