The Role of Dong Fang

PR - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - David Sy, Dong Fang support group in groundhandling, cited that Dong Fang has been at the forefront of promoting Cebu and other provinces to southern China market for the past several years with much success, especially during the annual Chinese New Year held during the first quarter of the year.

He stated that the Chinese are always in search for new and exciting destinations and are willing to pay for the novel attractions as long as these are in consonance with their tastes, budget, and level of experience.

Dino likewise expressed relief that the tour group, though educated, prefer to remain indifferent about the tense situationer between the Philippines and China regarding hotly-disputed territorial issues.

“They are politically mature who see little reason in adding to the political fire. They are here as tourists, not government officials, who are eager to witness our attractions, taste our local seafood, and go shopping. Who knows, the frequent visits may eventually lead to better ties with China in the long run,” Dino observed.

He also hinted for the need of more government involvement in the promotion of Cebu in China in order take advantage of the lucrative Chinese outbound market which has already reached the 100 million mark.

Dino also assured of Dong Fang’s continuous loyal support of the government’s tourism goals and of Cebu’s prominence in the Guangdong outbound market, aside from highlighting the other side destinations such as Manila, Boracay, Bohol, Palawan, and Davao, as well. (FREEMAN)
