Marco Polo invests P100M for room renovations

CEBU, Philippines - Earlier this year, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu began renovations of its deluxe rooms as the hotel’s owning company, Cathay International Resources Corp. (formerly Asia Pacific TM) renews its commitment to maintain and uplift the standards of a 5-star property.

Targeted to finish by the end of the year, the renovations will include all 228 deluxe rooms of the hotel.  With a total investment of P100M, the renovations aim to give the hotel’s rooms a modern design, integrating new trends in design and furnishing styles.

Improvements in bathroom and lighting design are also being implemented to give guests a better Marco Polo experience.

The new rooms design was conceptualized by Carlo Cordaro, President/CEO of Cebu Fil Veneer Corp., together with the hotel’s management.

Resident Manager  Julie Najar says: “We value the feedback that we get from our guests, and do our best to improve our guests experience as much as we can. With the room renovations, we get to address some our guests’ inputs and comments.”

At present, four floors have already been renovated, and are now available for occupancy.  With two floors being worked on at the same time, renovation works are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

While renovations are ongoing, Ms. Najar assures that all hotel operations will continue to be as efficient as possible, with guests guaranteed to get the same 5-star service that is the Marco Polo way.

Situated 600 feet above sea level along the prestigious Nivel Hills district, the Marco Polo Plaza, is considered a landmark in Cebu City. It is an urban resort and business hotel that offers a panoramic view of the city, the Mactan Channel and the neighboring islands.
