Brother rolls out new laser printers
CEBU, Philippines - With its constant innovation and product development, Brother International Corporation Philippines (BICP) recently launched its new series of monochrome laser printers or multi-function centers models that are specifically designed to address the needs of emerging markets like individual consumers and small and medium businesses.
Last Monday, company officials formally introduced to the Cebu market the four new models of the monochrome laser series namely HL-1110, DCP-1510, MFC-1810 and MFC-1815 at Radisson Blu Hotel.
BICP country manager Glenn Hocson said that the latest product innovation is tailored to meet the present demands of consumers and business owners for reliability, high-quality and cost-effective prints.
He cited that the new printer models also offer low cost ownership and low acquisition costs along with their time-saving, money-saving and space saving features which enable consumers to no longer sacrifice quality for affordability.
He noted that the new series of printers primarily highlights affordability to make the products available to the desired market.
He said that small-scale business owners, in particular, could save more in monochrome laser printers that use powdered toners compared with inkjet printers since the former mostly print documents in a single color.
The HL-1110, DCP-1510, MFC-1810 and MFC-1815 models are priced at P2,990, P4,950, P6,950 and P7,950, respectively.
Hocson explained that the probability of paper jams is reduced with the four new models since they boast of enhanced design features such as a longer side guide to reduce paper skew, a short pass of 220mm, an anti-curl system and a two-roller system that picks up and separates the paper more efficiently.
Designed in Japan, the new series of monochrome laser printers are built for durability and robustness with high-performance tested and hassle-free printing technology.
He added that since the models are designed with separate toners and drums, users can save cost and reduce wastage by only replacing the toner while continuing to utilize the drum.
The new series of printer models is also capable of printing 20 to 21 pages per minute and could print up to 1,800 pages in a monthly volume.
The printer models also have an energy-saving sleep mode named Energy Star Qualified which the consumer can customize after being inactive for a certain period of time, and a toner-saving mode that reduces toner consumption.
Hocson further noted that the printer industry is still posting an upward trend despite the availability of soft copies. He added that this could be attributed to the growing accessibility to printers using several possible connections such as wireless, USB cable, Android and Bluetooth.
He said that in the worldwide market, there is currently a decline on the quantity of printed pages but an increase on the quality of unique pages printed.
“The number of unique pages to be printed has increased yet the number of copies of these pages to be printed has decreased. It is a worldwide trend. The need for printing will always be there,†he said.
The company first launched the new series of monochrome laser printers in Manila last June and will soon introduce them in Cagayan de Oro and Davao within this month.
Hocson revealed that the company is aggressively working on new product developments and will release its new LED series of printers by the last quarter of this year.
BICP was reported to account for the highest market share in the multi-function category in the Philippine printer market for five consecutive years.
