Aboitiz reaches out to fire victims

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Less than 24 hours after fire gutted a residential area on A. Lopez Street in Labangon, Cebu City, AboitizLand and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. joined forces to reach out to some 110 victims and their families.

AboitizLand Assistant Manager for Community Relations Cori Baybay said the emergency assistance, which was initiated together with the foundation, brought two vehicles worth of relief goods to the affected families who temporarily took shelter in the barangay gym.

She said the relief packs, which contained mineral water, biscuits, and canned goods, arrived at the gym around 4pm on Wednesday.

“AboitizLand, as a neighbor of choice, always makes it a point to nurture the communities surrounding its projects,”Ms. Baybay stressed, noting that both AboitizLand and Aboitiz Foundation have been consistently helping catastrophe victims in their communities.

Meanwhile, the displaced residents expressed gratitude for the swift assistance, particularly the provision for water, initiated by the Aboitiz companies.

AboitizLand, which is engaged in the design, development, and management of residential, commercial, and industrial estates, is wholly-owned by Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), the holding company of the Aboitiz Group. (FREEMAN)
