CEBU, Philippines - To build an ecosystem of digital influencers nationwide, a marketing summit will be conducted in the Queen City of the South on November 24 at Conference Room AB, SM City Cebu from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.

Following the successful launch in Manila, the Cebu leg of Digital Influencers Marketing Summit 2012 is organized by the DigitalFilipino.com as part of its advocacy in empowering entrepreneurs, marketers, advertisers and hopefuls with insights on working with influencers and brand advocates.

Janette Toral, site owner and founder of DigitalFilipino.com, said that the Internet, particularly the social media, has empowered users to become digital influencers and brand advocates.

Cebu is an important stop for the summit since it is the first location in the country to form a blogging organization, she said.

“Instead of asking everyone to come to Manila, we are taking this summit to different parts of the country with the intent of inspiring and connecting with aspiring influencers. I hope this summit will inspire them in developing their digital influence further. The social media community in Cebu is very vibrant and has a lot of potential. I look forward to meeting digital influencers here,” she added.

With the 2013 elections at its offing when political candidates are anticipated to utilize social media and influencers as part of their strategies to reach out to the voting public, Toral will talk about social media experiments and observations on how the campaigns are shaping up this early online.

Social media specialist Fleire Castro of Third Team Media and Cebu-based bloggers Kevin Ray Chua and Rabsin De la Cruz will explain how bloggers evolve as a force of influencers towards brand awareness, advocacy support and promotion.

SEO specialists Ruben Licera Jr. and Tof Salcedo will also teach entrepreneurs on how to capitalize on social media and share techniques on how their content could rank page 1 of the search engine results.

Advices on how brand managers and entrepreneurs could collaborate with bloggers and social media users to create awareness and generate revenues will be given by Elisa Escobar of Azalea Residences Baguio and Richard Eldridge of Lenddo.com.ph.

Freelance professionals and entrepreneurs aiming to build their personal identity could also learn from the transformation stories of Ben Francia and Khoa Bui from being traditional marketing entrepreneurs to digital influencers.

Cebu Architect and fitness coach Alan Choachuy will tackle on how social media molded him as a fitness and health influencer for Filipinos worldwide.

The Digital Influencers Marketing Summit will serve as an avenue of knowledge on how social media is utilized for commercial, trend setting, political discussion, and helping others during time of crisis.

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to pitch their advocacies and be part of a Digital Influencers Group where they can interact with like-minded individuals and expand their personal network of connections.

DigitalFilipino.com encouraged marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, advertisers, business executives and owners, supervisors, public relations, advertising and digital agency managers, academe, bloggers, and publishers to participate in the summit. (FREEMAN)
