Accounting firm slates seminar for taxpayers
CEBU, Philippines - Feeling the need for taxpayers to be well-informed on tax rules and risks, the accounting firm of Reyes Tacandong & Co. (RT&Co) will conduct a seminar dubbed as “Winning Solutions for Varied Complications”.
In its press statement, the firm believes that taxpayers should equip themselves with proper knowledge on tax regulations and latest strategies that respond to tax exposures.
Companies should also comply with the Philippine Accounting Standards 12 “Income Taxes” and PAS 19 “Employee Benefits”, particularly on accounting and disclosure requirements for current and deferred income and employee benefits and liability.
Likewise, the incidence of fraud risk makes fraud detection and mitigation a sound business practice by using a framework of effective internal controls and proactive risk-responsive control activities.
Furthermore, the event will tackle practical solutions to varied tax and business problems of clients such as handling BIR tax audits and complying with tax obligations; application of accounting standards on income taxes and employee benefits; and fraud detection and mitigation through a better internal control system.
Former Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Joel Tan-Torres who leads a team of experienced practitioners from RT&Co will share his tax, accounting and audit, and advisory expertise. Other speakers are the company’s principals and partners such as Atty. Eleanor Montenegro, Chona Benedicta Mendoza, and Jekell Salosagcol who will discuss the practical solutions on complicated business problems.
The seminar will be held on August 30, 2012 at the Quest Hotel along Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Seminar fees range from P3,500 to P6,000 per attendee on a half-day participation or a full-day session respectively.
Those Certified Public Accountants who will attend this seminar will earn eight units of continuing professional education.
