PEEF 2012 in CEBU, Stakeholders to discuss issues, innovations
CEBU, Philippines - After a highly successful run at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Manila, the Philippine Energy Efficiency Forum (PEEF) 2012 comes to Cebu for a one-day forum and exhibition on July 17, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Radisson Blu Hotel. PEEF 2012 gathers various stakeholders and players across the power sector value chain --- from power plants to transmission and distribution to industrial, commercial and residential end-uses --- to discuss a variety of issues, technologies, solutions, initiatives and programs affecting the sector.
Forum speakers
Energy Undersecretary Loreta G. Ayson who is also project director of Philippine Energy Efficiency Project, will deliver the keynote address, “Driving Sustainable Energy for All along the Power Sector Value Chain.
Philippe Reveilhac, Country President of Schneider Electric, will talk about “Making Permanent Savings Through Active Energy Efficiency.”
How to improve efficiency and reduce GHG emissions of conventional power plants through cleaner fuels (natural gas) will be discussed by Mr. Edgar O. Chua, Country Chairman, Shell Companies in the Philippines, Guam, Palau and Saipan.
The Senior Manager for Country Business Development, Mr. Dagino “Jojo” Mendoza is also joining the forum and he will expound on the topic, “Variable Frequency Drives for Heavy Industries.”
A discussion on the “Increasing Uptake of Financing Energy Efficiency Projects” will be taken up by Mr. Jesse O. Ang, Resident Representative of IFC Philippines.
There will also be a discussion on initiatives to improve the enabling environment for the uptake of EE solutions from policy (Energy Efficiency) to standards (ISO 50001) to financing.
Organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), the PEEF is designed to promote the national effort towards energy security and low carbon economic growth through energy efficiency. It aims to provide participants with the opportunity to learn/share state-of-the-art and cutting edge energy efficient technologies and best practices in energy management, and provide opportunity for networking and forging business partnerships among participants.
It has a technology showcase that features a wide range of energy efficient products and energy management solutions across the energy value chain.
This year’s PEEF boasts of new features like the Technical Briefing, which was added to provide opportunities to sponsors and exhibitors to present their advanced and unique energy efficiency solutions; and Business Matching that will provide sponsors and exhibitors with pre-arranged meetings with prospective partners and clients. — DSN (FREEMAN)
