- The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - An export packaging seminar will be offered for free for the micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs), this according to Systemat-PackEDGE President Angel L. Buñag.

Buñag, who is the co-organizer of GLOBALPACK 2012 together with the Central Philippine University – Packaging Center for Package Engineering and Technology (CPU-PC/PET), personally relayed the information to Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

Systemat-PackEDGE is participating at this year’s Cebu Business Month (CBM) Expo from June 15 to 17, 2012 at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall where they will also be promoting the upcoming GLOBALPACK 2012 international packaging conference and exhibition.

With leading international packaging experts led by World Packaging Organisation (WPO) President Thomas Schneider, the export packaging seminar being offered for free to Cebu’s M/SMEs is valued on the average at P 12,000 – 15,000 per attendee.

Buñag said “this international packaging seminar hopes to fill the gap in the deficiency of good packaging knowledge and techniques so that local producers can become more competitive globally.”

The largest packaging conference and trade event of its kind in the country, GLOBALPACK is focused on the theme A New Roadmap for Export Packaging and will feature a series of lectures from international experts regarding emerging markets, the increasing importance of packaging for exports, as well as new technologies for ecologically-sustainable packages.
