CEBU, Philippines - The Top 10 District finalists from each of the Elementary and High School level in the 1st Aristotle Batuhan Community Leadership Awards Essay Writing Contest will be given due recognition in a fitting awarding ceremony on Friday, April 27, at the Casino Español.
Former Department of Transportation and Communication undersecretary Aristotle Batuhan, who organized the contest as one of his many community advocacy activities in Cebu City’s South District, will personally hand over the prizes to the 20 outstanding students.
With the theme “Akong Barangay, Distrito, Nasud,” the contestants wrote in English or Cebuano about “Why I love my barangay and how I can help in its development and progress” or “Nganong mahal nako akong barangay ug unsa’y akong ikatabang alang sa iyang kalamboan ug kauswagan.”
The finalists were selected by a screening committee from among the 33 qualifiers who topped in the school eliminations. They will all receive certificates of recognition and P1,000 worth of gift certificates at the awarding on Friday. They earlier received Aristotle Batuhan Community Leadership medals and mobile phone kit packages after topping their respective school eliminations.
