Lactobiotic foresees positive 2012

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano-owned health supplement maker, LactoBiotic Worldwide Inc., is projecting a good year in 2012, as the company started to embark on an aggressive marketing campaign in making Lactobacillus affordable to Filipinos.

The company’s president and chief executive officer (CEO) Grecilda “Gigi” Sanchez-Zaballero said that the company is rekindling its vibrance in pushing its various product lines.

Lactobiotic is the new brand name of Lacto Pafi Techno Resources Corporation, which was established by the late Cebu Vice Governor Greg Sanchez Jr., in 2001.

According to Zaballero the Lactobiotic Food Supplement, which was recently launched at the national level is now being pushed by aggressive marketing and distribution arms.

“There are also movements observed from among our products, now that we are becoming visible in print and broadcast channels, people are reminded that Lacto was first when it comes to health supplement,” she said.

The company’s other products include; Lacto Carrot, Papaya and Lemon soaps, Pafilac Toothpaste and Feminine wash and Paficare No Sting Wound Wash and cream, which was recently awarded as the “best regional invention” by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Zaballero said that what sustained the company’s growth is the strong patronage of its client-based. Moreover, the growing interest of the new generation customers believing on the efficacy of lactobacillus-based drinks and health care is what strengthens the company’s promising outlook.

Lactobacillus is a type of probiotic. Probiotics are friendly bacteria that grow in your digestive tract and help you digest your food. They are also important for your body to fight disease, because when you're not absorbing essential nutrients from your food, your body has a harder time getting well.

Some people take probiotics in capsules if they have digestive problems like gas, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea.

Zaballero said the company is working hard to cope with the dream of the late Vice Governor Sanchez which is to consistently provide an effective, quality and affordable alternative supplement for Filipinos.
