Local outsourcing company expands services worldwide

CEBU, Philippines - The changing landscape in the world’s outsourcing services, has paved the way for locally-owned outsourcing firm, Nothern Worx to expand its services to different countries in the globe, taking advantage of the rich source of the highly-skilled knowledge-worker pool in Cebu.

The company, which started as a medical transcription firm is now venturing into the wide knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) sector, focusing on providing services for cutomized outsourcing service, market intellegence, technical and marketing support, among others.

Northern Worx chief marketing officer (CMO) Mawit Go said that Northern Worx, which already have established its name in the United States market, is now penetrating fast growting emerging markets in KPO, such as Australia, United Kingdom and China.

Also, once the company will also settle some compliance in other potential markets like Germany and Switzerland, it will also start offering services for outsourcing in these countries.

Today, with a pool of 175 manpower, Northern Worx is offering diverse outsourcing services to its existing clients and it is expected to grow its number of knowledge-based workers in the next few months, which requirement will go beyond good English communication skill, but also analytical, and other skills needed in the back-room outsourcing operation.

According to Go, the challenge now for global companies is “customized customer service,” as well as good provider for market intelligence for firms that are expanding globally.

This opportunity, is now being taken advantage by Northern Worx, while the medical transcription business has evolved, as well as losing some services, due to the changes made by the Obama administration in the United States. (FREEMAN)
