CEBU, Philippines - The robust real estate sector in Cebu has prompted Cebu Home and Builders Centre, a construction material and home fixture retail chain, to open three more branches in three years.
Over P100 million is allocated as capital expenditure (capex) for the company’s expansion plans, which will include one in the northern most part of Cebu, while one store will serve the consumers within the Cebu City going to Lilo-an areas.
Part of the plan, he said is also to capture the southern part of Cebu, thus an outlet in the Southern Metro Cebu part will also be opened within the next three years.
Including the branches of its mother company Cebu Oversea Hardware, the company now has presence in Banilad, Pardo, Mactan, Plaridel, and Parkmall.
Cebu Home and Builders Centre General manager James Co said the demand for construction materials and home fixtures has improved even this year. It even surpassed the revenue it generated in the same period of last year.
Aside from the growing number of developers investing on mid-to-high rise condominiums, and residential subdivisions, one of the factors that fueled the encouraging sales performance of the chain is the growing house renovation projects by OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers).
Cebu Home and Builders Centre, which has strongly established its brand of quality materials in Cebu, and other parts of the Southern Philippines, also vowed to continuously update its array of products, to trail-blaze with the consumers’ changing preference, and sophisticated tastes—across market segments.
In fact, he said the company is constantly updating its offering of eco-friendly construction materials, and home fixtures, as these kinds of products are getting popular among consumers, regardless of price difference compared to traditional products.
Because of this, Cebu Home and Builders Centre, together with its mother company Cebu Oversea Hardware Inc., formally announced its partnership with French-brand wood alternative product called “XyITECH.”
XyITECH composite wood decking is an eco-friendly decking manufactured by combining waste wood fibers from the wood industry with recycled high density polymers to produce 100 percent recycled product.
The French brand XyITECH is exclusively available at Cebu Oversea Hardware Inc., and Home and Builders Centre retail chains.
This latest addition to its eco-friendly product joined the existing environment-friendly items available at its stores, such as adhesives, paints, bulbs, among others.
Co said that the company will continuously provide the market with “green” products, with high quality, and legal labels on it.
“We are very strict in choosing brands to carry. We have to protect our integrity in the brands we are offering. We built this brand credibility in 60 years,” Co concluded. (FREEMAN)
