Ateneo Graduate School of Business backs MBM
CEBU, Philippines - The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Cebu is a major partner of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce & Industry in holding its One Cebu Business and Sustainability Summit set at the Cebu International Convention Center tomorrow August 9, 2011.
Professors Enrique Soriano III and Jorge Wieneke both from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business are among the resource speakers of this year’s summit which focuses on Innovative Entrepreneurship.
Considered as one of the most dynamic management executives in the country, Prof. Enrique Soriano III will tackle the Current Challenges in Family Businesses. He is the Chairman of the Marketing Cluster of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and a Senior Consultant of Wong+Bemstein Business Advisory Group. His last executive engagement was as Group CEO of the Belo Medical Group. Prior to his Belo engagement, he was Chairman of publicly listed SunTrust Developers, founding President of Travellers Hotel International (Resorts World), Country CEO of ERA Philippines as well as holding Board level positions in several companies.
His commitment is to help family businesses achieve breakthrough success. As an Ateneo Professor, he educates his clients and students about the need to utilize a comprehensive and integrated approach for the benefit of their family business system. He regularly does workshops and advisory on Family Succession and Business Strategy in the U.S., Singapore, Malaysia , Vietnam and China.
Meanwhile, Prof. Jorge Wieneke III will discuss on Building the Entrepreneurial Character. He is a consultant and think tank who creates and strategizes a wide array of business ideas for his clientele: from business conceptualization and product development to the creation of franchise schemes and innovations for tired old businesses. Wieneke is an 18-year veteran of the food industry, best known for his successful conception and expansion of Potato Corner. Borne out of the advertising industry, Jorge’s entrepreneurial skills are highlighted with an innate creativity that simply makes him a stalwart in the industry.
Jorge Wieneke is a big man with a big mission in life. His advocacy is to create entrepreneurs out of a majority of Filipinos, whether small, medium or large. His ultimate goal is to make Filipinos self-sufficient and to be proud of their own. As such, he was one of the founding members of the Association for Filipino Franchisors, Inc. (AFFI). Wanting to share his knowledge, Jorge has become a faculty member at the Center for Continuous Education (CCE) of the Ateneo De Manila where he teaches Entrepreneurship and is the Program Director for CCE’s Retail Diploma Program. He is one of Go Negosyo’s Angelpreneurs and active mentor and was recently signed on by PLDT as Mr. KaAsenso, the go-to-guy for Minigosyantes. His personal businesses include: Potato Corner, Buy-The-Bucket, Japok a Japanese Fastfood restaurant, KBOP a fast Korean Restaurant, MyHouse which is the first lifestyle, free magazine to be launched in November and BFI-Business First Inc. a business consultancy firm and ad agency for small and medium company. He not only provides mentoring and consultancy for food businesses but business development and marketing as well for goods and services.
Other invited speakers in the Business Summit include Andrew Hodges of Microsoft Asia who will tackle on IN-novations for Better Governance; Mon Lopez of Go Negosyo Foundation on The GoNegosyo Quest; Donald Lim of McCann Worldgroup will discuss on Out of the Box Marketing; Dylan Wilk of Gawad Kalinga on Entrepreneurship with a Heart:The Story of Human Heart Nature; Illac Diaz of MyShelter Foundation will tackle on Innovative Entrepreneurship; Dean Pax Lapid will focus on Identifying Business Opportunities.
The Philippine Business for Social Progress through Mr. Philip Tan shall also give inputs on Innovative CSR. While, PCCI VP for Infrastructure, Housing & Construction Mr. Eric Cruz will discuss on Innovative Public-Private Partnership.
The business summit is held in partnership with the Provincial Government of Cebu and the City of Mandaue.
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes will welcome the participants and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will deliver an inspirational message.
On the same occasion, the Obra-Negosyo Eskwela Season 2, a partnership project of the Cebu Provincial Government and MCCI will be launched. The said Summit event is expected to be attended by top business executives, government policy makers, education leaders, members of business support organizations, entrepreneurs and students. Some 300 – 400 participants are expected to attend. The One Cebu Business and Sustainability Summit is held back to back with the Cebu Province ’s O.N.E. C.E.B.U Expo.
