Migration consultancy firm mulls venturing overseas

CEBU, Philippines - After establishing its name in the Philippines as migration consultancy provider, Pinoy Care Visa Center is now ready to venture overseas targeting countries needing affordable service like Pakistan and India.

Pinoy Care Visa Center President and chief executive officer (CEO) Niña Mabatid said there is significant growth of nationalities, not only Filipinos, who want to migrate to other countries, especially Canada, and they should be provided with professional and effective consultancy service.

In the Philippines, the company has been assisting Filipinos applying for migration assistance specifically to Canada.

Mabatid, a young Cebuana entrepreneur is seeing good potential to open up similar service in these two countries—India and Pakistan.

While the United States is still suffering from the effects of the global recession, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, are currently changing their rules in migration requirements, Mabatid said Canada is now the most open country to migrate, which also offers good future, especially for families.

A multi-awarded company, considered as one of the largest migration consultancy firms in the Philippines, with branches from other parts of the country, Mabatid expressed commitment of affordable charges, compared to other companies.

In the span of 10 years, Mabatid was able to open four offices in the country—in Cebu, Manila, Davao and Zamboanga.   

Aside from its overseas expansion venture this year, she said the company is also spending money to open similar offices in Bacolod, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro City.

“The demand now is getting stronger. More people are considering migrating and looking for greener future in other countries, like Canada,” she said adding that in the Philippines alone, the company at least accepts 100 to 150 new sign ups—applying for migration.

In fact, she said that the OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) affected by the upheaval in Libya have good potential to apply for migration in Canada, considering their skills and experience.

At this point, after the Canadian government recently changed its migration requirement, there are at least top 29 professions that are needed in the country. Top five include; nurses, hotel/accommodation professionals, dentists and doctors, architects and engineers.

She said the business for migration consultancy is not only dynamic in the Philippines, but also in other countries like India, and Pakistan. Thus, Mabatid is putting her foot ahead and set to open offices in these countries this year, spending about P20 million, including the company’s capital expenditure (capex) for domestic expansion.

Her business, which started only with P10,000 capital 10 years ago, is now recognized as one of the largest in the Philippines.

“It only takes a smart move, to start something,” she encouraged other women to venture into business which they believe of their core competence.

Aside from Pinoy Care Visa Center, Mabatid also owns other companies, such as East West Placement Center, CDK Recruitment, Pinoy Land International Properties and the newest Philippine Staffing and Manpower Care Solutions Inc.
