Australian migration service company opens Cebu office

- Ehda Dagooc -

CEBU, Philippines - Australian nationals have opened a migration service office in Cebu to fill in the gap of providing proper consultation for Filipinos wanting to migrate to Australia.

With growing interest for skilled Filipinos finding greener pastures outside of the Philippines, AusWork Migration Services Corporation opened its first office in the Philippines in Cebu, located along the national highway in Mandaue City.

“There are a lot of criteria in order to succeed in migrating to Australia, and Filipinos planning to apply for Australian Visa should be guided accordingly,” said Peter Nemes, AusWork president and chief executive officer (CEO).

According to Nemes it’s unfair for Filipinos who have big potential to get good paying jobs and eventually live in Australia with their families, to not being able to take advantage of the opportunity, because of “misguidance.”

AusWork’s primary aim is to provide assessment and consultation services, including IELTS (International English Language Testing System) training for Cebuanos, or Filipinos wanting to work, and live in Australia.

Although, there are already similar consultancy agencies providing the same services, Nemes said AusWork will see to it that the applicant should be guided properly, if he is a good potential to migrate to Australia, or not.

He said there are several ways to improve an applicant’s potential to work and live in Australia, based on the company’s expertise and knowledge in the Australian government’s standard of accepting and accommodating immigrants.

Aside from IELTS training, the company also provides professional consultation on what to do, in order to get an Australian Visa, without spending considerable amount of “hard-earned” money.

Nemes emphasized Filipinos’ need to improve the English Language skills via IELTS training. “A lot of Filipinos think that they are already good in English, but most fail in the IELTS exam.”

At present, Australia needs skilled workers such as engineers, construction workers, health professionals, and other services related professions.

Filipinos, with its good reputation as workers around the world, have great potential to find good-paying jobs and eventually settle in Australia, if they are given the right information, and proper advice.

According to Nemes, AusWork is one of the few registered agencies, which specialize in providing services for skilled migration to Australia.

Also, AusWork boasts of its sound Personal Professional Diagnostic Report or PPDR which provides necessary information as to when to make a successful visa application.

AusWork has been providing migration services to Australia, in South East Asian countries for 20 years. The Cebu office is the company’s first Philippine branch, Nemes said.

Nemes is joined by other Australian nationals to operate the company in Cebu, namely; Mike Corbett and Amanda Kirkpatrick.
