Basic Graphics inks deal with Ateneo de Cebu

CEBU, Philippines – Basic Graphics, Inc. (BGI) a Cebu-based printing firm, will showcase its ISO-certified printing process in a partnership with one of the premium schools in Cebu, the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC).

The sister-company of Golden ABC Inc. (makers of Penshoppe) has been commissioned by (SHSJAA), Batch 85 graduates of SHSJ and printing company for the publication of LUX ORIENS – the 55-Year History of the Sacred Heart School of the Society of Jesus.

“Lux Oriens will chronicle the 55-year history of SHS-AdC since its humble beginnings in 1954, its role in molding leaders, as well as its contribution to the community as a model Christian education institution,” according to a statement.

Both parties signed the memorandum of agreement last Thursday during the project’s kick-off ceremony, at the Mahogany Hall of the Oakridge Business Center inside the Oakridge Business Park .

SHS-AdC president Fr. Manuel Uy SJ, SHSJAA and batch 85 president Kenneth Lim, SHSJAA treasurer Regan Rex King and BGI chief executive Edmund Liu signed the agreement on behalf of the parties involved.

Under the agreement, SHS-AdC will provide the materials that will be contained in the book. SHSJAA and batch 95, as beneficiaries, will be the recipients of the donations for the book, to fund their various community and goodwill projects. Basic Graphics, as the official publisher, will provide the concept, design and its ISO-certified printing capabilities to make the book a reality.

BGI acquired their ISO 12647-2 for print quality in October last year.

BGI chief executive officer Edmun Liu said the company invested a huge amount for the technology. However, this means that Cebu could now offer printing of international standard.

BGI is the first ISO-certified printing firm outside Metro Manila. The company is also the first in the Philippines to offer the Aniva photographic printing technology which replicates photographs, with enhanced depth and tone. (FREEMAN)
