CEBU, Philippines – The changing consumer preferences these days prompted Gillamac's Marketing Corporation to diversify its business, from a retail financing company to distributorship and business center businesses.
Gillamac's Marketing Corporation (GMC) chairperson Lucresia "Baby" Gillamac-Alvarez said that the consumers now have become "spoiled" and that providing a one-stop-shop business center is one of the demands of the market today.
The Gillamac's Group has partnered with Cartridge World, the global ink and toner expert.
In addition to the Group's strength in retail financing, with a total of 22 branches nationwide, Gillamac-Alvarez said the company has entered into the business center trade as this kind of service also complements the existing business operation of the Group.
"We decided to be sensitive to the changing business environment. Innovation has to set in, especially now that the third generation [of Gillamac Family] is coming into the picture," she said.
She said the Business Center concept is aimed at providing the consumers and the community with the basic services.
In the Center, "Cartridge World" will provide affordable, but quality recycled ink, which is now one of the most in-demand products across consumer segments.
Ink refill, which is primarily used by the home-users is now a growing trend in the Philippines, said Bruce Newfield of Cartridge World. In partnership with Gillamac, Newfield hopes to provide the Cebuano market with quality and affordable ink and inkjet cartridges.
The entry of Cartridge World in Cebu will not only give affordable ink products to home-users of students, but also give opportunity for companies to cut cost on ink expenses.
Gillamac's opened its Business Center facility at the Sanciangko Street this City recently..
Gillamac-Alvarez also said that as the company turns 40-years-old next year, plans to expand operation is also in the pipeline. (THE FREEMAN)
