Avaya deems Cebu as potential growth area
CEBU, Philippines - Avaya, a multinational Information and Communication technology solutions provider, sees a potential growth area in Cebu’s positive views towards employing sophisticated technology to compete.
Avaya recently presented to Cebuano industry players its complete roadmap in helping companies, especially the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) players to thrive, amid the threat of global competitiveness.
Recently, Avaya’s international and local experts in ICT solutions, unveiled the company’s vision for the future of communication and a roadmap that integrates products and services from the recently acquired Nortel Enterprise Solutions (NES) to create new standard for business communications.
“We constantly provide them [companies] with latest and improved technology,” said Roy Wakim, senior manager for UC Business Development in Asia Pacific for Avaya Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Aside from the dynamic BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sector in Cebu, in which majority are already utilizing the Avaya technology, the company is also looking at helping other sectors such as healthcare (hospitals), government, and financial, aqua-culture, and retail.
“Cebu is a very important market for Avaya. We are committed to grow our business here,” said Avaya Philippines Inc. country manager Edgar T. Doctolero.
“We offer integrated solutions that fit the SME space in Cebu,” Doctolero emphasized.
Avaya’s vision is based on open standards, communications-enabled business systems and effective, contextual, real-time communications.
Using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) organization, large to small, can make smooth transitions to new capabilities at their own pace while protecting existing communications investments.
Wakim said Avaya’s communications-enabled business systems streamline business processes by injecting real-time communications where they can provide value.
Based on an IDC study, enterprises in Asia Pacific are willing to invest in business communication technologies that present an easy integration and upgrade path and build on past investments.
In addition, the IDC survey showed that enterprises in the region are willing to adopt unified communication solutions that consolidate systems and facilitate interoperability in a multi-vendor environment.
It said that business communication solutions that are aligned to these market drivers will be embraced by firms in the region.
After its acquisition of Nortel, Avaya will adopt the current roadmap of Nortel Enterprise Solutions (NES) data products in its entirety.
According to Wakim, Avaya believes that the technology, customer base and innovative product roadmap represent a compelling value proposition for global customers.
Included in the Avaya data portfolio are solutions for Ethernet Switching, Routers, Wireless Networking, Access Control and Unified Management.
The company provides unified communications, contact centers, and related services directly through its channel partnership to leading businesses and organizations around the world.
