Interphil releases new antihistamine drug
CEBU, Philippines - The Actidin loratadine brand, a non-drowsy antihistamine for allergy products, is now available to consumers in most small and independent drugstores in the province.
In a press conference held yesterday at the Royal Concourse Restaurant, Interphil Laboratories New Products Manager Dante Agagan said Actidin is one of the over-the-counter (OTC) drugs produced by Interphil. The others are Spasmoban loperamide and Moculex ambroxol.
Interphil, which is committed to provide the Filipinos high quality, branded products at affordable prices, is one of the largest manufacturer of high quality pharmaceutical products in the Asia-Pacific. Its modern facility is located in Canlubang, Cabuyao Laguna.
Actidin controls allergy symptoms without causing drowsiness, giving allergy sufferers the freedom to go about their normal daily activities.
Agagan said a stuffy or runny nose, recurrent sneezing, itchy nose and eyes or watery eyes and persistent cough are probable signs of allergy. The Actidin line of antihistamine products is marketed in three formulations. These are the Actidin Quik 10 mg., the only antihistamine in dispersible tablet in the market; Actidin 10 mg. tablet and Actidin Junior 5 mg/5 ml. syrup syrup in 60 ml. bottles formulated for children.
Many substances are capable of causing an allergic reaction. The most common are pollen, mold, house dust, animal hair and dander, feathers, food, drugs and insect stings. These allergens cause different kinds of allergic reactions such as allergic rhinitis or hay fever. Some of the symptoms include sneezing, itching and weeping eyes, stuffy or runny nose and cough.
