Toshiba unveils first concept store in Visayas

CEBU, Philippines - Encouraged by the bright prospects that it sees in the Philippines particularly in Cebu, Toshiba opened its first concept store in the Visayas at the SM City Cebu Cyberzone.

In partnership with Silicon Valley which has been distributing its products, Toshiba sees the expansion as another way to strengthen its presence in the Visayas region and to increase market share in retail of Toshiba premium laptops. 

Krislyn Chia, assistant manager of Toshiba Computer Systems Division Singapore, said that they see the big potential of their growth in the country and that Cebu is one of the major growth areas. 

Joel Pe, president and chief executive officer of Silicon Valley Group of companies, said that the concept store, the third for the Philippines, was actually a stroke of luck because of the good location that SM offered with the presence of Cyberzone and the good partnership they had with Toshiba.

The first store is in SM Megamall and the second in North Edsa, both in Manila.

Pe said that concept stores are better since they do not limit the products that they could carry and in turn would give convenience to the buying public.

The Toshiba concept store will display the company’s “most innovative mobile computing devices such as the powerful, portable and affordable notebook computers with several enhancements to its line of Qosmio, Satellite, Satellite Pro, TECRA, PORTÉGÉ notebook computers.”

Not only is it a display area for all their products but the concept store gives the customers the convenience of having their laptops checked through iServ, Toshiba’s Authorized Service Center.

Toshiba Corporation , a global high technology product leader with 315 major subsidiaries and affiliates worldwide,   continues to introduce other laptop models that go with the different needs of the public ranging from students, gamers, and professionals.
