Rustan's braces for expansion; plans to hold product info drive

CEBU, Philippines - With plans to further expand its services in Cebu by transferring to a new wing in Ayala Center Cebu next year, Rustan’s Department Store aims to attract more customers by first educating them with the benefits of their products.

Joselito Macachor, store manager of Rustan’s Ayala said that to sustain the growth of their customers, they intend to educate more people on the products sold in the store, especially on the skin care and cosmetics products, which accounts for the highest sales generation of the store.

“It’s a matter of educating the market on the products sold in your store,” said Macachor who said that they have welcomed new products from well-known brands following the growing market in Cebu for beauty products.

Macachor said soon they will be coming up with an info-drive program to educate the customers but as of now, Rustan’s staff are willing to explain or discuss the particulars of a product to any walk-in customers who are interested to know. Each section of the department store is assigned a personnel to assist the customers.

According to Macachor, they have regular customers that really find and buy products that are more expensive compared to the regular brands as these gives them the assurance of the quality.

He said that aside from the regular clients, they have definitely seen more people coming in which is a proof of the growing interest of the market. Macachor said that this is one of the reasons they keep on welcoming new products like those from Nature and Co.NARS, Essences and Junkisei prime of Japan.

He said that considering that more and more people are investing on skin care and cosmetic products, they would like to focus on this and promote the advantages brought about by their top-of the line products.

Macachor said that they are also appreciative of the support of the Cebuano market and that they have noted of a growing market also from the male buyers.

Rustan’s is known to be the biggest luxury shop destination in the country with varying premier brands all in one place.

Through the new store, which is targeted to open by next year, Macachor said that they would be having more products and they would be able to emphasize on other products that are only found in Rustan’s. Aside from their top-seller skincare and beauty products, Macachor said that they are proud of the different goods in the store like clothes, bags and shoes and house wares.
