CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry once again sends a reminder to the consumers to check first the quality of the Christmas lights before purchasing to prevent problems like fires caused by substandard lights during the Christmas season.
DTI-7 Regional Director Aster Caberte said that they are asking the public to be cautious about the lights they buy and not be daunted by those sold cheaply and yet could pose danger to the household.
“If the Christmas lights are sold at 3 for P100, then something is wrong there,” said Caberte.
She added that they continually are going around the region and checking on those selling lights and other decorations sold for the holiday season.
Caberte said that they are asking the public to call their office if they have any concerns, complaints or reports regarding those selling lights that are questionable of their quality as well as the high prices.— AJ de la Torre
