Windows 7 gets Symantec support

-

CEBU, Philippines - Information Technology security provider, Symantec Corporation (SYMC) announced its support for Microsoft’s Windows 7, with its Norton-branded consumer products and enhanced versions of its enterprise security, backup and recovery and migration technologies.

Working closely with Microsoft, Symantec has engineered solutions to help Microsoft customers, including corporate users to simplify the migration to Windows 7 and build a safer more secure computing environment.

"We’ve worked diligently alongside Microsoft to ensure our customers remain fully protected on Windows 7. Our flagship Norton products are all Windows 7 compatible and current Norton customers are entitled to the compatibility update for free,” said Rowan Trollope, senior vice president, Consumer Products, Symantec.

Norton Internet Security 2010 and Norton AntiVirus 2010, which feature the groundbreaking new Quorum reputation-based technology, were designed to deliver security for Windows 7.

Additionally, Norton Internet Security 2009, Norton AntiVirus 2009 and Norton 360 Version 3.0 have all been updated to support Windows 7. Active subscribers will automatically receive the appropriate compatibility update online, and no user action will be required.

In addition to the flagship Norton offerings, OnlineFamily.Norton, Norton Online Backup and Norton Utilities are all Windows 7 compatible. Users of older versions of Norton security products can visit the Norton Update Center for information on how to get the latest versions of their products and to see if a Windows 7 compatible version is available. —Ehda M.
